Ford introduced Privacy Promise on November 2, TechCrunch reported. Practical controls are detailed in Ford's privacy notice.

Deleting the mobile app does not by itself stop the vehicle from sharing information. Ford recommends resetting personal data and account connections before selling a car.

The notice applies to the United States; users elsewhere should check local terms. This version took effect on July 1 and is not a newly issued November 2 policy.

Phone data, cloud accounts and information stored in the vehicle are separate layers. Changing one does not necessarily change the controls on the others.
