Imports of Chinese cars into Azerbaijan could become more complicated due to new export rules. Exporting Chinese-made vehicles will require manufacturer authorization, and from 2027, it will be necessary to confirm the availability of servicing and spare parts in the destination country.
According to FinFly, the new requirements could affect the market for Chinese cars in Azerbaijan.
Experts note that when choosing a car, buyers consider not only the price but also the availability of spare parts and servicing.
According to them, after recent heavy rains in Azerbaijan, some Chinese-made cars experienced battery problems, which affected buyer interest in these vehicles.
Meanwhile, imports of Chinese cars into the country have already declined noticeably compared to previous months.
Experts believe that the new requirements from Chinese authorities could have a positive effect on both protecting business interests and consumer rights.
Previously, some buyers purchased cars of unclear origin, without an official manufacturer representative or factory warranty. When technical faults arose, it was difficult to determine the responsible party.
The new rules are expected to reduce such risks and provide buyers with more reliable servicing.
