Hyundai has supplied 11 electric buses for a public transport pilot in Bali. The company announced the delivery on October 23, following the launch ceremony a day earlier.

The eight-metre COUNTY EV buses combine Hyundai platforms with bodies built by Indonesia’s Laksana. The Global Green Growth Institute leads the initiative. Hyundai will also monitor vehicle quality and operating performance.

This is a pilot delivery, not the electrification of the island’s entire transport system. Charging, maintenance and daily vehicle availability matter alongside the buses themselves.

Operating results will be the useful basis for judging expansion. Purchasing vehicles starts the project; a sustainable service depends on whether passengers can rely on the same journey being available every day.
