Traffic restrictions on a number of central streets in Baku, previously in force at weekends, will now apply on all days of the week. The Land Transport Agency of Azerbaijan (AYNA) reported this.
The changes will cover the section of Zarifa Aliyeva Street after its intersection with Rasul Rza Street, as well as Abdulkarim Alizade, Haji Zeynalabdin Taghiyev, Tarlan Aliyarbekov and Yusif Mammadaliyev streets.
The initiative is aimed at improving the connectivity of pedestrian zones, creating a more comfortable and safe urban environment, and developing the tourism and business potential of the city centre.
Entry and exit to the area will be provided for residents holding an individual parking pass, as well as for vehicles providing emergency, medical, utility and logistics services.
The new rules will be introduced in test mode from 5 October.
