In January-July of this year, Azerbaijan provided services in the transport and warehousing sector worth 9 billion 206.6 million manats, which is 7.1% more in real terms compared to the same period last year.
According to the State Statistics Committee, of this amount, 5 billion 530.7 million manats (60.1%) accounted for freight transportation, 2 billion 522.9 million manats (27.4%) for passenger transportation, and 1 billion 153 million manats (12.5%) for warehousing and postal services.
In the transport sector, 140.8 million tons of cargo were transported (2.8% more than a year earlier). 63% of cargo was transported by road, 25.9% by pipeline, 7.4% by rail, 3.6% by sea, and 0.1% by air.
During the reporting period, 1 billion 290.0 million passengers were transported (+8.6%). 89.3% of passengers were transported by road, 10% by metro, and the rest by other modes of transport.
