As a result of projects implemented by the International Association of Road Transport Operators of Azerbaijan (ABADA) and partner organizations, the volume of international freight transport in the country increased by 34% in January-June 2026 compared to the same period last year.

This was announced to journalists by ABADA Secretary General Kanan Gurbanov.

According to him, the introduction of electronic permit forms for international road transport has already begun with Turkey, Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan:

"Soon, Russia and Georgia will join this system. Projects are also being implemented to introduce the e-TIR system with Turkmenistan, as well as e-CMR with the State Customs Committee and the International Road Transport Union (IRU). In addition, ties have expanded within the Union of Road Transport Associations of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization (BSEC-URTA) and the Union of International Road Transport Associations in the Turkic Region (TDT-URTA). We actively participated in the work of joint commissions of Azerbaijan with Kazakhstan, Mongolia, China and Georgia."
