Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) has temporarily suspended a number of flights on the Baku-Moscow-Baku route due to restrictions in Russian airspace.
According to AZAL, the changes affected flights J2-185/J2-186 Baku-Moscow (Domodedovo)-Baku and J2-805/J2-806 Baku-Moscow (Vnukovo)-Baku scheduled for October 9.
The morning flight J2-185 from Baku to Moscow made an emergency landing in St. Petersburg. After the reintroduction of airspace restrictions, the aircraft was unable to return to Baku.
The morning flight J2-805 Baku-Moscow was forced to return to Heydar Aliyev International Airport.
The restrictions also affected the timely arrival of aircraft at destination airports and the operation of subsequent flights. As a result, the evening flights J2-186 and J2-806 on the respective routes were delayed.
The national carrier is promptly monitoring the situation and taking measures to provide passengers with the necessary support. Passengers will be informed of schedule changes through official channels.
AZAL emphasized that the safety of passengers and flights remains the company's top priority. All operational decisions are made taking into account the current situation and safety requirements.
