Azerbaijan’s Mortgage and Credit Guarantee Fund reported 61,010 mortgages worth a combined AZN 4.19 billion in figures available on November 4. The figures cover lending over the life of the programme, not just mortgages issued this year.
Dividing the total value by the number of loans gives an average of AZN 68,749. Loans issued years apart carry equal weight in that calculation, so the result should not be read as either the price of a home or the size of a new mortgage.
The fund also reported handing over 10,104 apartments under its separate rent-to-own programme. That is a count of homes delivered to tenants, not additional mortgage loans.
