Tesla and Samsung have opposed additional US tariffs on Vietnamese goods, Reuters reported on November 2 after reviewing company submissions to US authorities.

Tesla pointed to American manufacturers' component and equipment needs. Samsung highlighted Vietnam's role in supplying smartphones and network equipment to the US market.

The intellectual-property investigation faces a November 29 deadline. Whether it will produce new tariffs, and which products might be covered, remains uncertain.

The submissions are corporate positions in a trade dispute, not a regulatory decision. Predicting specific consumer price increases would be premature before the scope and terms of any measures are known.
