Cydome, ClassNK, Bureau Veritas, MTS-ISAC and Rakuten Maritime have announced Blue Initiative, an open vulnerability database focused on maritime IT and operational technology.
Users can filter records by equipment or vendor, read selected analyst notes and subscribe to alerts. The partners say researchers from Cydome and participating organizations review entries.
Access is free. The aim is to help shipowners identify risks relevant to their systems within the wider flow of vulnerability reports. The database does not itself install patches on vessels; equipment operators still perform that work.
