Azerbaijan has been admitted to the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO), according to a press release from the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of Azerbaijan.
The ministry noted that membership in the organization will create several important opportunities for Azerbaijan: "Through the DCO platform, the country will gain access to advanced digital policies, experience exchange, and international standards. At the same time, local startups will have the opportunity to enter the markets of member countries, participate in joint accelerator programs, and gain access to venture funds."
It is noted that for youth and ICT professionals, the development of digital skills will accelerate through joint training and certification programs: "New opportunities will also open for cooperation in e-commerce and data-driven business models."
"Furthermore, Azerbaijan will be able to further strengthen its role as a digital bridge between the regions of the South Caucasus and Central Asia. In the field of digitalization of public services, the country will be able to benefit from the experience of member states in areas such as e-government, artificial intelligence, and smart solutions."
At the same time, exchanging information with the DCO and member states about Azerbaijan's ICT potential, the work carried out within the Digital Development Council, the opportunities created for digitalization, and the main digital projects implemented in recent years, as well as sharing experience, will contribute to further increasing Azerbaijan's export potential in digital products and services.
Among such projects are the platforms "mygov" and "mygov Business," which represent a unified system of electronic services for citizens, government agencies, and businesses; "Digital Bridge," which ensures seamless data exchange between government digital services; "Digital Login," a secure single sign-on system; the Digital Document Management System (RSD), which optimizes inter-agency document management; and SIMA, a free biometric digital signature solution, the ministry reported.
It is emphasized that DCO membership will strengthen Azerbaijan's cooperation at regional and global levels in digital science, healthcare, education, trade, economy, and security, and will also facilitate the coordination of legislation and policies aimed at supporting digital transformation and the development of the technology market.
According to the ministry, founded in November 2020, the DCO is a global multilateral organization aimed at accelerating inclusive growth of the digital economy and ensuring digital well-being for all.
