Azerbaijan has begun drafting rules for the use of artificial intelligence in government agencies and requirements for its implementation.

This was announced by Nadir Novruzov, head of a department at the State Service for Special Communication and Information Security, during a panel discussion at ADEX 2026.

According to him, the service has been vested with powers to identify risks that artificial intelligence may create.

"To discuss this topic, Azerbaijan traditionally holds a summit of heads of information security and IT in government agencies," Novruzov noted.

He said that the ninth such summit will be held on October 20 this year. Its main theme will be the security of artificial intelligence.

"Invited experts will outline a number of areas in the field of security. The summit will feature panel sessions and discussions on relevant areas. In the near future, official letters about participation will be sent to government agencies, and their representatives will be invited to the event," Novruzov said.
