Garmin has announced the Tacx Nēra indoor cycling trainer with integrated movement. The October 20 release describes a system designed to let the bike move during a workout instead of remaining rigidly fixed.
Manufacturer specifications include up to 2,200 watts of resistance, simulated gradients of up to 20% and power accuracy within 1%. The US suggested price is $999.99.
Platforms such as Zwift and ROUVY may require separate subscriptions. Optional accessories should not be assumed to come with the basic trainer.
The useful comparison is therefore the cost of a complete home setup: hardware, bicycle compatibility and the selected training service. Equipment specifications describe capability; they do not, on their own, establish the quality or outcome of a workout.
