Canon has announced Camera Control Center for crews working with remotely operated cameras. The free desktop application will bring together functions previously spread across four utilities. Distribution is scheduled to begin in early January 2027.
Operators will be able to compare images from four compatible cameras and adjust white balance, shutter speed and aperture. A live producer could, for example, match a speaker’s skin tone in the wide shot and the close-up before switching between them on air.
The application also covers initial setup, camera movement and maintenance. Crews can save a studio configuration and recall it on a return visit instead of rebuilding the setup for each shoot.
