ASUS has showcased the ProArt GR1X mini PC for always-on local AI workloads. The device appeared in the company’s October 21 GTC Berlin presentation.

Its chassis measures 150 × 150 × 51 mm. Announced features include NVIDIA RTX graphics, dual M.2 storage, 10GbE, Wi-Fi 7 and support for up to four 4K displays, with cooling designed for sustained operation.

The announcement does not give a GR1X retail price or launch date. A value comparison with a conventional desktop would therefore be premature.

The practical proposition is a compact, separate machine for background computing. Choosing it for a particular AI model still requires memory and workload-performance details: small dimensions alone say little about which tasks a computer can handle effectively.
