The World Bank expects Azerbaijan's GDP growth to accelerate from 1.2 percent in 2026 to 1.8 percent in 2027, according to the bank's latest report.
According to the forecast, Azerbaijan's economy will grow by 1.9 percent in 2028.
"In 2026, Azerbaijan's economic growth is likely to slow somewhat to 1.2 percent from 1.4 percent in 2025, due to the ongoing structural contraction of the oil sector and weaker-than-expected growth in the non-oil economy amid reduced public capital spending," the World Bank said.
At the same time, according to World Bank analysts, higher growth rates in Azerbaijan's non-oil sector are likely to accelerate overall economic growth from 1.2 percent in 2026 to an average of 1.8 percent in 2027-2028, despite declining oil production and planned fiscal consolidation.
