The first producing well on the new offshore platform No. 50 at West Absheron has entered service, local media reported on November 5, citing the Azneft production association.
The platform is designed for drilling 16 wells. Bringing the first well online marks the start of production from the new facility, rather than completion of its entire planned well programme.
The launch announcement does not provide a daily production figure that would establish the platform's contribution to total output. The planned well count describes the project scope and should not be interpreted as a measure of production capacity already achieved.
