Uzbekistan plans to attract Qatari company Al Alfia Holding to implement joint projects in the chemical and oil & gas industries, according to a statement from the country's Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade.
Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov held a meeting with a delegation of Al Alfia Holding led by the company's special representative Zainab Al-Yousuf. The parties discussed expanding the company's presence in Uzbekistan, practical implementation of ongoing initiatives, and launching new projects.
Priority areas include localization of lubricants and chemical products using local raw materials and modern technologies, as well as organizing production of wellhead equipment for oil and gas wells in Uzbekistan.
The parties also reviewed projects in New Tashkent, including construction of real estate, commercial and hotel infrastructure, as well as creation of logistics facilities.
Following the meeting, next steps were defined to elaborate on the identified areas, exchange technical and project information, and promote new Uzbek-Qatari investment initiatives.
In turn, the press service of Uzbeneftegaz JSC reported that the company's head Abdugani Sanginov discussed with Al-Yousuf prospects for cooperation in the oil and gas sector, as well as possible participation of Al Alfia Holding in promising projects of Uzbeneftegaz.
During the talks, special attention was paid to localization of lubricants and surface coatings production, as well as organizing production of wellhead equipment at Uzbekistan GTL.
Following the meeting, the parties expressed readiness to further develop mutually beneficial cooperation.
