Abdulla Azizov, Director of the Agency for the Development of the Medical and Pharmaceutical Industry of Uzbekistan, held negotiations with Datuk Mohd Ghazali bin Haji Ahmad, founder of the Malaysian company GREENTACT HEALTHCARE SDN. BHD., focused on developing cooperation in biopharmaceuticals.

During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of localizing high-tech production, implementing new investment projects, and expanding partnership in the pharmaceutical industry.

Special attention was paid to the prospects of organizing production of insulin and its analogues, as well as vaccines against the human papillomavirus (HPV) in Uzbekistan. The participants also considered opportunities for introducing modern technologies into biopharmaceutical production.

The Malaysian side was presented with the potential of the BioPharma City pharmaceutical cluster, its production and research infrastructure, as well as the conditions created for investors, including current tax and customs benefits.

Following the meeting, the parties identified key areas for further cooperation related to production localization, introduction of innovative technologies, and attracting investment.

Implementation of these initiatives is expected to contribute to expanding the output of high-tech biopharmaceutical products in Uzbekistan, increasing production of import-substituting goods, and strengthening international investment cooperation.
