Uzbekistan intends to establish long-term supplies of Jet A-1 aviation fuel from China to diversify imports, according to Uzbekneftegaz JSC.
Chairman of the Board Abdugani Sanginov received a delegation led by Chinese Ambassador to Uzbekistan Yu Jun on August 14.
"The meeting discussed cooperation between the two countries, including steadily developing strategic joint investment projects in the oil and gas sector, as well as new promising areas," the statement said.
Uzbekneftegaz is implementing a number of projects with Chinese companies CNPC, CCDC, BGP, Jereh, Honghua and other major companies in the fields of geological exploration, well drilling, services and introduction of modern technologies.
"One of the main topics of the meeting was the possibility of long-term supplies of Jet A-1 aviation fuel from China to diversify imports and form a stable system of supplying Uzbekistan with aviation fuel," the information said.
In this context, the parties considered the possibility of assistance from the Chinese Embassy in Tashkent in establishing direct cooperation between Uzbekneftegaz and Chinese companies China National Aviation Fuel Group (CNAF) and Sinopec.
Following the talks, the parties expressed readiness to expand cooperation and implement new investment and technological projects in the energy sector.
