Ankara has proposed that Moscow and Kyiv develop a special mechanism to prevent attacks on commercial vessels in the Black Sea. Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan announced this on August 9.
According to the Turkish foreign minister, the situation in the Black Sea is gradually creating a threat to civilian navigation and commercial shipping.
"Turkey has proposed to Russia and Ukraine to create a special mechanism that would prevent attacks," Fidan said in an interview with the Anadolu agency.
The minister stressed that Ankara is concerned about cases of attacks on ships linked to Turkey.
"We are warning the parties that attacks on Turkish ships or ships with Turkish owners or Turkish crew are becoming a serious problem for us," Fidan said.
