US President Donald Trump said he rejected a plan proposed by Iran to resume shipping through the Strait of Hormuz. He made the remarks while speaking with journalists on the South Lawn of the White House.
"I reject their proposal," Trump said in response to a corresponding question.
According to him, Tehran wants to conclude an agreement providing for the immediate unblocking of Hormuz because it is "suffering a crushing defeat."
"They want to make a deal, and I think that's fine. I like making deals too, but such an agreement would be unacceptable," he emphasized.
