The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) has successfully completed a 3D OBN seismic survey at the shallow-water section of the Gunashli field for the first time in the Caspian Sea. FinFly.News reports this, citing SOCAR's Azneft Production Association.
According to the company, the high-precision data obtained from the survey, which covered an area of 247.6 km² at the field operated by Azneft, will allow for a more detailed study of geological strata, tectonic faults and reservoirs, improve the field's geological model and refine drilling targets.
The project is an important step in terms of expanding SOCAR's application of advanced geophysical technologies in the Caspian Sea and more accurately assessing the future potential of fields in long-term operation using modern technologies.
