Comstock Resources announced a definitive agreement with SOCAR for a $1.65 billion transaction in its third-quarter results released on November 4.

The deal covers 20% of Comstock's interests in Legacy Haynesville, 15% of its interests in Western Haynesville and part of Comstock's interest in the Pinnacle infrastructure business. The operating company will continue to manage production.

Comstock expects closing by year-end, subject to required approvals and customary adjustments to the consideration. The economic effective date is July 1, 2026. Signing establishes the contractual terms; it does not confirm that ownership has already transferred.
