Russia's trade turnover with CIS countries exceeded $110 billion in 2025 and grew another 19% in the first half of this year, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a narrow-format meeting of CIS leaders.
"At the end of 2025, trade turnover between Russia and CIS member states exceeded $110 billion. And in the first half of this year it added another 19%," Putin said.
He noted that the CIS could achieve much greater success if it moved toward removing trade barriers.
"Can we move even faster? Probably we can. What needs to be done for that? We need to remove barriers," the Russian president emphasized.
According to him, the countries' leaders are working in the practical sphere. But it is known that "sometimes at the national level" restrictions are introduced. "We ourselves are deliberately holding back that pace," Putin concluded.
