Russian President Vladimir Putin has promised to consider the issue of establishing communication between major domestic mining companies and startups involved in digital systems.
During a working trip to Nizhny Novgorod, the president visited an exhibition of companies participating in the contest of growing Russian brands "Know Ours". In particular, the company "ESFI" was presented there, which deals with digital systems for mines and quarries. Among its key developments are a domestic drilling rig control system created to replace the foreign RCS5, telemetry solutions, the "Antinayezd" collision prevention system, and a tunneling drilling assistant.
According to company representatives, thanks to these systems, one can be in one region and control drilling rigs in another.
"Operation has shown that our solutions are in no way inferior to Western counterparts and can be competitive in the markets of developing countries. Importantly, we write not only software but also all the 'hardware' - industrial computers, circuits, equipment, sensors - we develop and produce all of this ourselves," noted a company representative.
He added that such startups need support in establishing communication with mining companies, "because currently colleagues prefer to take ready-made foreign solutions, as they are faster and more understandable than supporting the development of domestic technologies."
The company representative expressed confidence that the domestic engineering school can solve any technical problems.
"I heard what you said," the president said after reviewing the project, promising to study the issue.
