Russian President Vladimir Putin said on September 10 that a 30% increase in budget revenues from migration procedures is decent.
Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation and Head of the Migration Service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs Andrey Kikot, in a conversation with the head of state, noted that the country received 321 billion rubles in revenue from all migration processes over 18 months.
"Decent. There is somewhere more than 60 billion [rubles] — that's the federal budget, and over 250 or 260 — to regional budgets," Putin remarked in response.
State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin recalled on August 26 that the authorities have tightened control over compliance with migration legislation. From September 1, for foreign citizens staying in Russia for more than three months, the period for mandatory medical examination was reduced from 90 to 30 days.
