Kazakhstan and Tajikistan adopted a roadmap to increase trade through 2030 on November 7. President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev announced the agreement after talks with Emomali Rahmon.

The countries plan to expand food supplies and explore agricultural processing chains. Tokayev said agricultural trade rose 11% last year to roughly $600 million.

Freight digitalisation is another priority. A working group of the national railway companies has been tasked with proposing transport and logistics projects. The roadmap sets out further work; the announcement does not specify investment commitments.
