Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan intend to increase the volume of Kazakh oil transported through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline. This was stated by Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at the VII Summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA) in Baku, FinFly reports.
"Together with Azerbaijan, we intend to increase the volume of supplies of Kazakh oil through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline," he said.
Tokayev emphasized that in the context of an unstable global environment, Kazakhstan is betting on partnership and expanded cooperation.
He also recalled that last year Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan signed an agreement on strategic partnership in the field of "green" energy supplies, laying the foundation for the Trans-Caspian Green Energy Corridor.
According to him, this corridor should connect the energy systems of the three countries and ensure further transmission of electricity via the Black Sea to European markets.
