Kazakhstan and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank discussed establishing a regional office serving Central Asia and the CIS, the country's Economy Ministry said.

Deputy Prime Minister Serik Zhumangarin raised the issue with AIIB President Zou Jiayi. Kazakhstan expressed readiness to assist.

The talks also covered infrastructure financing. The office remains a proposal: the announcement gives neither an opening date nor a final location decision.
