Azerbaijan’s liberated territories have 27 general schools and 13 preschool institutions in operation, serving 6,576 children, according to the Ministry of Science and Education.
The facilities form part of the Great Return programme’s infrastructure. For returning families, access to schools and childcare affects the ability to combine employment with caring responsibilities.

The institution count indicates the scale of the network, but does not establish travel distances, class sizes or staffing in each settlement. Assessing conditions for returning households also requires local data. Dividing the total number of children by the number of institutions would not produce an average class size.
