SOCAR's partner in the development of a prospective block in the Guba-Caspian region, Gran Tierra Energy, has registered a branch in Azerbaijan.
As FinFly.News reports, the state registration of the local branch of Gran Tierra Energy (Azerbaijan) GmbH was carried out by the State Tax Service.
The branch's legal address is: Baku, Sabail district, 69E Uzeyir Hajibeyli Street. Its legal representative is Colombian citizen Villalobos Herrera Hector Enrique.
Recall that on February 18, 2026, Azerbaijan's state oil company SOCAR and Canada's Gran Tierra Energy Inc. signed an agreement on exploration, development and production sharing for an onshore prospective block in the Guba-Caspian region.
The document was signed by the presidents of SOCAR and Gran Tierra Energy Inc., Rovshan Najaf and Gary Guidry.
Under the terms of the agreement, Gran Tierra Energy Inc. will receive a 65% participating interest and will act as the project operator.
SOCAR's interests in the project will be represented by its subsidiary SOCAR Quba-Xəzəryanı LLC.
