The eurozone economy grew by 0.4% in the second quarter compared with the previous three months, according to revised data from Eurostat, the European Union's statistical office. This was the fastest pace of growth in five quarters.
On an annual basis, GDP rose by 1%. Both figures matched both the preliminary estimates and the average forecast of analysts surveyed by Trading Economics.
The EU economy grew by 0.5% quarter-on-quarter and 1.2% year-on-year in April-June.
GDP in Germany, France, and Italy increased by 0.2% quarter-on-quarter, the Netherlands by 0.4%, and Spain by 0.7%.
This is the second of three estimates of GDP change. Final data will be published on September 7.
The eurozone economy was unchanged in the first quarter of this year compared with the previous three months and rose by 0.5% year-on-year, while the EU grew by 0.5% and 0.8%, respectively.
