The European Union has expressed gratitude to Azerbaijan for providing humanitarian aid to Ukraine, emphasizing its particular importance amid ongoing attacks on the country's energy infrastructure and preparations for winter. This was stated by a representative of the European External Action Service (EEAS).
"Azerbaijan is a reliable energy partner of the EU and contributes to providing necessary support to Ukraine. As EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas noted during her visit to Azerbaijan, the European Union is grateful to Azerbaijan for humanitarian aid to Ukraine," the EEAS representative emphasized in response to a query from Report.
According to him, along with the support of the European Union and its member states, assistance from other international partners, including Azerbaijan, plays an important role. It helps meet Ukraine's urgent needs and strengthen its resilience.
The EU foreign policy service representative noted that ongoing Russian attacks on Ukrainian cities, critical infrastructure and civilians are aimed at intimidating residents, undermining the economy and weakening the country's resilience, especially ahead of winter.
Recall that on October 7, Azerbaijan sent another batch of electrical equipment to Ukraine as humanitarian aid. The total value of the cargo was 2.5 million manats. It included transformers, 186 km of electrical cables, wires and other equipment necessary for restoring Ukraine's energy infrastructure.
