The Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) has identified cases of promotion of a number of foreign investment platforms in the country and attraction of Azerbaijani residents to them. This is stated in a CBA message.
It is noted that the services of these platforms are promoted through internet resources, social networks, training programs, seminars and other marketing tools.
The Central Bank noted that having a license issued by a foreign regulatory body does not give an investment platform the right to provide investment services or promote them in Azerbaijan. According to Azerbaijani legislation, providing investment services in the country is allowed only with a corresponding license issued by the Central Bank of Azerbaijan.
The CBA urged citizens to check whether the provider has a corresponding license to operate in Azerbaijan before using investment services. To protect investors' rights, the regulator recommends entrusting investments only to companies that have an investment company license issued by the Central Bank of Azerbaijan. The list of licensed investment companies is posted on the official website of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan.
