New tariffs for payment systems do not apply directly to citizens. FinFly reports this with reference to a statement by the Central Bank of Azerbaijan.

According to the regulator, the tariffs approved by the CBA for the Interbank Card Center (ICC) are commissions that apply exclusively to infrastructure participants — banks and payment organizations.

"The commissions will be charged directly to participating institutions for operations processed in the ICC system and do not apply directly to end users — citizens," the statement says.

Recall that the new tariffs for payment systems were approved by a decision of the CBA board dated September 15, 2026. They will take effect on April 1, 2027.
