As of August 1, 2026, the net foreign assets of Azerbaijani banks amounted to 32.10 billion manats.
According to FinFly.News calculations based on data from the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA), this indicator increased by 793.1 million manats, or 2.5%, compared to the previous month, and by 5.5 billion manats, or 20.8%, compared to August 1 of the previous year.
As of the reporting date, net domestic assets of banks amounted to 21 billion 915 million manats, which is 295.6 million manats, or 1%, more than in the previous month, and 728.1 million manats, or 3.4%, more than on August 1 of the previous year.
Thus, as of August 1 of the current year, the net foreign assets of Azerbaijani banks exceeded net domestic assets by 10 billion 95 million manats, or 1.5 times.
As of the reporting date, 21 banks operate in Azerbaijan, with total assets of 60 billion 980 million manats, total liabilities of 53 billion 330 million manats, and balance sheet capital of 7 billion 650 million manats.
Against the backdrop of growing foreign assets in Azerbaijan's banking sector, CBA leadership states that the financial stability of the banking system remains at a high level, and there is no need to change the current monetary policy stance.
