Over the past seven years, Azerbaijan has built and reconstructed 51 substations, according to an article by Baba Rzayev, chairman of the board of Azerenerji OJSC, FinFly reports.

According to him, energy security depends not only on sufficient electricity production but also on its timely transmission in the required volume to consumers.

"Over the past 7 years, 51 substations have been built and reconstructed, more than 70% of the transmission system has been upgraded and about 2,600 km of new power lines have been laid. As a result, the total length of the network has reached 9,665 km, and throughput capacity has reached 21,950 MVA. These changes create conditions for reliable electricity transmission to various regions of the country, connection of new consumption centers to the grid and increased resilience of power supply," he noted.
