Azerbaijan's total external debt stood at $12.3271 billion at the end of 2025, down from $13.5867 billion a year earlier. The decline was $1.2596 billion, or 9.3%, according to FinFly calculations using the World Bank country table in International Debt Statistics 2026.

Debt composition

Long-term debt amounted to $11.3808 billion, including $10.3167 billion attributed to the public and publicly guaranteed sector and $1.0641 billion of private nonguaranteed debt.

The table separately lists $221.8 million in short-term debt and $724.5 million under use of IMF credit and Special Drawing Rights allocations. Together with long-term debt, these categories make up the total.

Reporting period and scope

The measure covers external obligations across the reporting sectors at end-2025. It is not the government's external debt at today's date and should not be directly compared with a narrower public-debt measure for a different period.

The database was updated on November 4, 2026. The annual change is calculated from the reported amounts and rounded to one decimal place.
