Ripple has received final OCC approval for Ripple National Trust Bank, chief executive Brad Garlinghouse announced.

The bank will manage reserves backing the RLUSD stablecoin and offer regulated digital-asset custody to institutional customers. RLUSD itself will continue to be issued by New York-regulated Standard Custody & Trust Company.

Ripple applied in July 2025 and received conditional approval that December. The authorization concerns a specialized trust bank; it is not an announcement of a conventional retail deposit-taking and lending business.
