Baku, Azerbaijan, September 28, 2026. Binance, the leading blockchain ecosystem behind the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume, announces the expansion of its educational initiatives in Azerbaijan amid growing user interest in digital assets and practical knowledge about the crypto market. As part of the Baku Learning Lab, the company will continue to develop free educational formats aimed at improving crypto literacy, a better understanding of how digital assets work, and the associated risks.

The expansion of educational initiatives comes amid active digitalization in Azerbaijan. Currently, about 91% of the country's population uses the internet, but the pace of digital technology adoption still outpaces the development of relevant skills. According to a study by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), only 25% of Azerbaijan's population aged 15–74 possesses at least basic digital skills. The ITU also notes digital security and problem-solving skills as areas needing further development.

As financial services move into the digital environment, the need for specialized knowledge is growing. Crypto literacy is becoming one of the components of broader digital and financial literacy: it is important for users to understand not only the opportunities of digital assets but also the principles of how the market works, the basics of trading and investing, and approaches to risk management.

The high interest in such knowledge is also confirmed by the results of a Binance survey conducted among more than 500 users in Azerbaijan in August–September 2026. 70.3% of respondents named trading as one of the main uses of cryptocurrencies, and 69.9% cited earning passive income as one of the main goals of using digital assets. Against this high interest, practical knowledge about market mechanisms and associated risks becomes particularly important.

One of Binance's key educational projects in the country is the Baku Learning Lab, a series of free events dedicated to practical crypto literacy. The project combines basic knowledge about digital assets with practical formats that help participants better understand how the market works and the principles of responsible interaction with it.

The next Baku Learning Lab session, "Intro to Trading and Investment," will take place on October 3 in Baku and will focus on the basics of trading and investing in crypto assets. The program is designed primarily for beginner users and will cover the main principles of the crypto market, approaches to trading and investing, and risk management.

The format will combine educational and interactive elements: participants will be able to test their knowledge via Kahoot, take part in a demo trading session, and ask questions to the Binance team. The topic of the new session was chosen based on feedback from previous Baku Learning Lab participants. Participants reported high interest in more practical content on trading.

"The digitalization of financial services makes education a particularly important part of market development. Access to new tools must be accompanied by an understanding of how they work and what risks are involved. In Azerbaijan, we see high interest in practical knowledge about digital assets. Therefore, we continue to develop educational formats that help users better navigate the market and make more informed decisions," said Kirill Khomyakov, Binance's regional head.

Participation in the Baku Learning Lab is free, and the number of places for the offline session is limited. Registration and detailed information are available on the event page.
