US President Donald Trump said in an interview with Real America's Voice that if the US had not intervened, Iran would already possess nuclear weapons. He defended his policy aimed at preventing Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons.

Trump noted: "If I hadn't done this, they would have nuclear weapons right now, and you would be addressing them as 'Mister.'"

According to Trump, the US has three strategies regarding Iran. The first option is to continue the current policy of pressure: "Look at how bad their situation is. They have 300 percent inflation. Their currency is practically worthless. They don't pay their soldiers. Soldiers are leaving the army."

Trump emphasized that the second option is to deliver a "very tough strike" on Iran, and the third is to defeat the country economically.

Speaking about Iran's dire economic situation, the US president added: "They can't borrow money. We control their money. They had a lot of money, and we completely control it. I am their banker."
