English club Manchester City has set a record for the amount spent on footballers in a single transfer window. This is reported by Transfermarkt.
During the summer transfer window, the club spent €526.20 million, breaking the record of €483 million set by Liverpool in 2025.
In the summer, Manchester City signed nine players. Among them are Argentina national team midfielder Enzo Fernández (€145 million), who became the most expensive player in the club's history, Elliot Anderson (€135 million), Ayub Bouaddi (€95 million), Iliman Ndiaye (€70 million), Allana (€37.5 million), Mathis Detourbe (€25 million), and Jérémy Mongi (€11.7 million). Goalkeepers Gerónimo Rulli and Pierce Charles were acquired for €3.5 million each.
After two rounds of the new English Premier League (EPL) season, Manchester City tops the standings with six points. The team will play its next match on September 5 against Coventry City.
