The Russian side does not refuse to talk with US President's special envoy Steve Witkoff and Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner if they visit, but what they bring matters, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.
"I assume that if they are trusted to such an extent, they have influence on the US President, and he trusts them. We do not refuse to talk to them. If they come, they know that Russian President Vladimir Putin is ready to receive them once again. The question is what they will bring," he said in an interview with VGTRK.
The minister recalled: "When Witkoff came a little over a year ago (probably on August 5 or 6), he brought proposals from US President Trump. Russian President Putin took them into consideration and, upon arriving in Alaska, said: 'Donald, you sent us proposals, I thought about them. There are things that require compromise. But I accept your proposals as you sent them.'"
