A federal court in the Southern District of New York has blocked the US State Department's decision to suspend the issuance of immigration visas to citizens of 75 countries. According to the court ruling, the imposed restrictions contradict the law and exceed the department's authority.

In January, the US State Department suspended the issuance of immigration visas to citizens of 75 states. The list of countries subject to the restrictions included Russia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Brazil, Georgia, Egypt, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Cuba, Syria, and Uzbekistan.
