Of this volume, 39.6 billion cubic meters of gas were supplied to Turkey.
The Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP) starts at the Turkish-Georgian border and connects with the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) near Ipsala (Edirne Province) on the border with Greece, through which gas from the Shah Deniz-2 field is supplied to Europe. The total length of TANAP is 1,850 km.
The section from the Turkish-Georgian border to Eskisehir was commissioned on June 30, 2018, and the first gas was fed into the system at that time. The section from Eskisehir to the Turkish-Greek border was commissioned in November 2019. Commercial deliveries of Azerbaijani gas to Europe via TAP began on December 31, 2020.
Currently, TANAP has reached its design capacity of 16.2 billion cubic meters of gas per year.
