According to Tajikistan's Ambassador to Azerbaijan Ilhom Abdurahmon, his country is consistently pursuing a course to develop transport and logistics infrastructure, as enshrined in the State Program for the Development of the Logistics System for 2023-2028. He noted that the program envisages the creation of logistics complexes of regional and international importance, the development of transport infrastructure, and the reduction of costs in cargo transportation.
"Overall, Tajikistan's participation in the development of the Middle Corridor is becoming more sustainable and applied, which opens additional opportunities for expanding bilateral cooperation with Azerbaijan - primarily in the areas of digitalization of transport processes, development of joint logistics solutions, and increasing the efficiency of transit chains between Central Asia, the Caspian region, and the South Caucasus," the diplomat said.
Abdurahmon noted that deepening coordination between relevant agencies in the digitalization of transport and increasing the efficiency of transit routes gives additional impetus to the transport and logistics interaction of the two countries. In particular, according to him, the parties are moving to the practical implementation of electronic permits for international road transport, which will reduce paper document flow and speed up transit operations.
In addition, the ambassador emphasized that digital connectivity of transport systems is developing, including data exchange between information platforms, the introduction of "single window" mechanisms, and real-time cargo tracking systems.
Ilhom Abdurahmon added that the parties are working to improve the efficiency of transport and logistics routes and expand practical interaction with the Baku International Sea Trade Port.
