This was announced by the chairman of the Milli Majlis Committee on Economic Policy, Industry and Entrepreneurship, Azer Amiraslanov, speaking at the 11th Azerbaijan International Insurance Forum (AIIF-2026).
"Today, the insurance market is undoubtedly showing development. However, the issue of setting goals remains even more significant. There is a specific vision, a clear approach and strategy have been developed, and the formation of a new strategy for the upcoming stage is expected. In essence, we are talking about a roadmap for the development of the entire industry," the deputy emphasized.
As A. Amiraslanov noted, it is necessary to take into account the specifics of the modern insurance system, and there is also a significant need for comprehensive educational activities.
"Despite the transition to a market economy having occurred about 30-36 years ago, there is still an acute need for explanatory and educational work regarding the features of the market, as well as the importance and demand for insurance. It should be frankly admitted that often business representatives and even ordinary citizens view insurance costs as unnecessary expenses. At the same time, it is necessary to realize that in any case, these are funds aimed at risk management.
Furthermore, it is important to understand that insurance is not just a choice, but an objective necessity. The costs and resources allocated to insurance should be considered, among other things, as an investment in the future, in further development and ensuring stability," added A. Amiraslanov.
