The prosecutor is asking for six years in prison for blogger Huseyn Gasanov in an in absentia case involving the legalization of money. This was reported to REN TV by Gasanov's lawyer Mikhail Yusupov.

According to the prosecution, Gasanov evaded taxes totaling over 170 million rubles ($2.1 million), after which he legalized part of the funds by signing a real estate purchase agreement.

The blogger himself does not admit guilt. Earlier, he stated on social media that he had paid off the tax arrears, and his interests in court are represented by a team of lawyers.

In spring 2025, Gasanov was arrested in absentia and put on the wanted list. According to investigators, in February of that year, he left Russian territory. According to media reports, the blogger may be in Azerbaijan or the UAE.
