Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan called President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. This was reported by the press service of the Azerbaijani president.

During the telephone conversation, the sides exchanged views on the occasion of the first anniversary of the Washington Peace Summit, held on August 8, 2025, with the support of US President Donald Trump, which established peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia, as well as on the occasion of the initialing of the text of the Peace Agreement between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia.

The sides particularly noted the important role of President Donald Trump and the government of the United States of America in advancing the peace process.

The sides noted the progress achieved over the past year in normalizing relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

During the conversation, it was emphasized that the development of trade and economic ties between the two countries is a clear manifestation of the benefits of peace. In this context, the sides noted the export of Azerbaijani oil products to Armenia, as well as the transit of goods through Azerbaijani territory to Armenia and from Armenia to other destinations.

In addition, the sides exchanged views on the implementation of the TRIPP route in accordance with the agreements reached in Washington.

The sides stressed the importance of continuing efforts to advance the peace process and ensure lasting peace, stability, transport connectivity, and economic cooperation in the region.
